Seasoned French Fries Recipe Ingredients.

Heat Oil in medium saucepan over medium to high heat. Bring Oil to 350 degrees. Peel and Slice Red Potatoes into steak fry slices. Wash and dry potatoes. Add potatoes to hot oil. Cover saucepan with lid. Check condition for browning every 5 minutes. Once potatoes reach desired doneness remove saucepan from heat. Remove browned French fries and place into metal strainer to drain oil away. While fries are draining sprinkle on Jake's Southwestern Hickory Dry Dry Rub (BUY NOW!) and 1 Teaspoon of Pepper. Let sit for 1 to 2 minutes to drain.

Now that you know how to make basic french fries we'll show you our method for making extra crispy French Fries.  Just follow these steps to achieve success.

Use 1 to 2 medium to large Russet potatoes and remove outer skin.  Slice the potatoes into fries about 1/4 inch thick.  Place the fries in a bowl and fill with water.  Pour out the water and rinse to remove the starch from the potatoes.  Take a small pot and add water enough to cover the fries at least 1 inch over the top.  Bring the water to a boil.  Once the boil is achieve reduce the heat to medium high and add the potatoes.  Cook the potatoes for at least 10 minutes until the outer edges look ragged and fluffy.  Remove the potatoes from the water into a strainer and drip dry.

Place the fries in the refrigerator for at least 10 minutes to remove the heat and add a slight chill.  You can hold the fries for up to 30 minutes if you don't plan on having them right away.  Once chilled bring your oil to 360 degrees F.  Then carefully add the fries to the heated oil.  Cook for about 8 to 10 minutes then remove from the oil and hold on a paper towel.  Turn up the heat and allow the oil to reach 400 degrees F.  Add the fries to the heated oil and watch carefully as the fries will turn color quickly especially if the oil has been used before.  If the oil is new then the fries will start to turn a nice golden color.  After 8 minutes remove the fries on to a drainer or paper towels on a plate and allow the excess oil to drain off.  After 1 minute of draining shake on the Jake's Southwestern Hickory Dry Rub (BUY NOW!) and and toss the fries.

After draining add two shakes (2 Tablespoons) of Jake's Famous Natural Ketchup. Nothing is better than french fries with ketchup
