Jake's Famous Ball Park Ketchup sauce
The first appearance of tomato ketchup occurred around 1812 when a horticulturalist began mixing tomatoes with brandy, vinegar and sugar. Ketchup as a successful condiment occurred primarily due to the fact that mixed recipes actually provided a form of preservation with tomato sauces lasting up to a year.
By the 1900s there was enough evidence to point to chemicals that did help in preservation but were not so good for ones health and additional mixing that would improve the taste. Finally by the mid 1950s the ketchup formula was settled using ingredients like Corn Syrup and preservatives along with a fair amount of salt to preserve taste and color.
About 5 years ago Jake's began to take a look at the standard Tomato ingredient listing and that's when we thought we could do better. We could create a Ball Park ketchup natural style product that was built on the lessons learned over the last 100 years. We could actually remove the Corn Syrup, take out the preservatives, reduce the amount of salt (sodium) and finally improve the flavor with a hint of fennel. So we did, we created Jake's Famous Ball Park Style. Our recipe is smooth, tasty and bright with the flavors of red-ripened California tomatoes.
How satisfying is it to just sit and have French fries with juicy sun ripened ketchup. But not just any Ketchup, your favorite Ketchup. Our focus is to bring you the freshest, ripest tasting natural Ketchup. And while the other guys won't be able to say that, we can. Imagine a family picnic or barbecue and your desire to create a fresh new taste that not only your friends will enjoy but your kids as well. Then imagine this whole new taste sensation just waiting to be grabbed right there on your table. That's right your imagining Jake's Famous Ball Park Ketchup. Here's what people are saying about Jake's Famous Ball Park Ketchup:
Harley James wrote: "Jake, this is a great product! I thought I'd had decent ketchup before but man....this is good stuff! My wife wanted it because it doesn't have corn syrup. I thought it would be nice to try something different. One of my friends Phil said he had it and left a review and he was right. This has that really great tomato taste with just the right amount of sugar and a nice light vinegar bite. This is fantastic on hot dogs, meatloaf, chicken, sandwiches and more. I think Heinz should be very afraid of this.
"Thanks for the great ketchup."
Phil Marlowe wrote: "Last week I ordered one of Jake's new products...his Jake's Famous Ball Park Ketchup. I order lots of stuff from Jake so I thought I would try this as well. I am pleasantly surprised. How simple it would have been to buy Heinz or Hunts by just running down to the store. But I took a chance and I am glad I did. This is amazingly great Ketchup. It is clean because there is no corn syrup, it is fresh with a real great tomato taste and it's not overly salty like that Heinz stuff. My kids love it and it makes my wife happy because it's a clean recipe. I am pleased and will be buying more soon. Great job Jake...."
