  • Tri Tip, Steak and Rib Rub 11 Oz

I bought this for some friends who like steak. Wasn't long after they got it that I heard about them putting it on not only steak, but chicken, ribs, fish, rabbit, cornish game hen, salmon and everything else. Actually I think they're just cleaning out their fridge but heck what do I know. Bad part is they never have anything left to give me for sampling. So I bought my own, now I know why, great rib rub, better than my own which is really good.

    Thank you Jake!
  • Southwestern Style BBQ Rub 12 Oz

In the Northeast we eat a lot of Catfish so I was looking for something new to add to our regular cornmeal mix. A couple of fellas told me about this Jake's Southwestern dry rub. I got the link ordered the rub and I have not been happier! All I do is add 3 tablespoons to about a cup of mix and coat my fish. I like to fry it up and man...this is some good stuff. I get this nice light spiciness and new mexican chili flavor along with just the right amount of saltiness.

    Great Job Jake!

On one of our trips to the California Central Coast I ran across Santa Maria Style Tri-Tip. How could something so simple be so good? My friends told me that this entire region was practically solely dedicated to barbecuing tri-tip, ribs, chicken and believe it or not doing it without barbecue sauce but with something called "dry rub". I'd never heard of it before but thought what the heck I'll try it and I'm glad I did.

Well some months later we all got the hankering for some tri-tip, but realized we couldn't make it to California. Another friend told me not to worry he had just the thing. He brought over some tri-tip, and this Jake's Tri-Tip, Steak and Rib Rub with claims of being just like Central Coast rubs only better. He shook it on the meat, let it sit for about 30 minutes as we got the grill and other stuff ready. He seared the meat then cooked it the rest of the way indirectly.

I have to say honestly, that Jake's rub was better, it had this nice little brown sugar, tarragon and smoked salt blend. I think that made all the difference with that subtle sweet and saltiness. That was some dynamite rub. The container was really handy having that spoon and sifter thing...here's another thing I've bought from them and I'm proud to say I'll keep buying...Thank You Jake!
