Hot Wings Southwestern Style Recipe

This is an excellent Jakes Hot Wings Southwestern style recipe

This Hot Wings recipes is easy to make with just a hint of Jake's Southwestern Hickory Dry Rub.

Ingredients

  • 3 Sticks Butter (softened)
  • 1/2 C. + 2 Tbs. Tabasco Sauce
  • 3 Tbs. Brown Sugar
  • 3/4 tsp. Paprika
  • 3/4 tsp. Salt
  • 1 Tbs. Balsamic Vinegar
  • 1 Tbs Jake's Southwestern Hickory Dry Rub
  • 3/8 tsp. Cayenne Pepper
  • 2 Tbs. Chili Sauce
  • Canola oil for frying
  • Bleu Cheese Dipping Sauce
  • 1 C. Hellmann's Real Mayonnaise
  • 1/2 C. bleu cheese, crumbled (about 2 oz.)
  • Steps:

Heat the oil in a deep-fat fryer according to the manufacture's instructions. Or, if you're using a skillet pour in about an inch of oil and heat over medium high heat to 370 degrees. Cut up chicken wings into two part sections, discard wing tip. Add the chicken wings and cook them until golden brown and crisp on both sides, about 8 minutes in all. Using a slotted spoon, transfer the wings to paper towels to drain off any excess oil.

Combine the sauce ingredients in a large saucepan and stir over medium-high heat until the sauce begins to simmer. Reduce the heat to low and add the chicken wings. Simmer the dish until it's hot throughout, about 10 minutes.

To make the Bleu Cheese Dipping Sauce: Stir the mayonnaise and the bleu cheese together. Use right away or chill until serving time. Serve with the Hot Wings.

Ingredients will store well together in the refrigerator for up to 2 weeks.

Create your very own Hot Wings Southwestern style recipe that can be made any time just like Jakes Famous.

We like making this Hot Wings Southwestern style recipe and have made it about 6 or 8 times or so.  This recipe is just as good if not better than going to one of those famous hot wings recipes and buying them direct.  I like the use of the Balsamic vinegar whereas those famous locations don't actually use the Balsamic.  I think it also takes into account the use of a Tabasco sauce that you can easily buy.  I like the end results because the recipe although using a lot of materials is fairly quick and easy to make.  The end results are tasty, aromatic and bold and well worth the effort.

We make these Hot wing recipes when we have Sunday gatherings and holiday parties.  I've given this recipe to many of my friends and they've used it a number of times at tailgate parties.  They always tell me that this is a real crowd pleaser.  The friends usually end of buying two to three times the number of wings over what they would normally purchase.  Even if they have brisket or ribs or some form of chicken they usually end up short on the number of wings.  The only way they compensate is by having a vast amount of wings held in the freezer on reserve.
