Mango Habanero BBQ Sauce Recipe Homemade Taste

 

Mangoes and Habaneros are the perfect compliment of heat and sweet combined with savory BBQ Sauce. Here's our very own homemade recipe for the asking.

 

To make this recipe simple we first start with a bottle of either Jake's Really Nice Medium Hot BBQ Sauce. If you want to make it super hot then grab a jar of Jake's Really Hot "Spicy" BBQ Sauce. Each sauce is savory and contains just the right amount of Habanero, Jalapeno and our very special select ginger added to level the double impact of the Habanero and Jalapeno. Since this is a homemade bbq sauce recipe you'll need the following ingredients to complete the task:

 

Ingredients for Mango Hot Sauce

 

  • 1 tablespoon canola oil
  • 1 small Spanish onion, finely chopped
  • 2 cloves garlic, finely chopped
  • 2 ripe mangoes, peeled, pitted and coarsely chopped
  • 1 habanero, chopped
  • 1 cup white wine vinegar
  • 1 teaspoon table Salt

 

Heat oil in medium saucepan over medium heat. Add onions, garlic, mangoes, habanero and vinegar and cook over low heat for 15 to 20 minutes. Place the mixture in a blender and blend until smooth. If the mixture is too thick, add a few tablespoons of warm water or vinegar. Season with table salt.

 

Once the Mango Hot Sauce is ready combine with 1- 12 Ounce bottle of Jake's Medum Hot BBQ Sauce or Jake's Really Hot BBQ Sauce. Cook the combination over medium heat for 15 - 20 minutes until the flavors meld. Remove from heat and allow the mixture to rest for at least a half and hour, this will aid in the maturing of the recipe. If you have time the recipe can be made a day in advance and cooled in the refrigerator to mature the flavors even more.

 

Once the Mango Habanero BBQ Sauce recipe is rested you can serve with your favorite meat or place in a container to re-warm for table side serving.
