I have always purchased rubs and sauces until years ago when I actually read the ingredients and found I was paying for and feeding my family salt, garlic powder, and high fructose junk. Since that time I made my own, until I discovered Jake's. It would not be possible for me to economically assemble all of the great ingredients found in these products and produce my own. I am sold on Jake's and have enjoyed The California Grilling Shake, Steak, Rib & Tri-Tip Rub, and BBQ Sauce.

I have always enjoyed Jakes other rubs, so when I got hold of this one, I had to give it a try.

Typically, I like to rub Jakes Dry Rubs on ribs and chicken, then slow cook it in the oven.

Because it was Labor Day, there were some great deals on Tri-Tip, so I rubbed California Chipotle Dry Rub (Formerly Xtreme Dry Rub) on, let it sit for a couple hours and slow cooked it.

What I like is that the rub went on smoothly, did not cake up, and the flavor permeated the meat.
