A recently learned about ways of using the "Big Green Egg".
I'd heard about this thing for a number of years but had not had the experience until then to try it. Others have asked questions about it so here's the information.
The Big Green Egg is an American designed ceramic cooker. Derived from an ancient clay cooker called a "Kamado," the Big Green Egg has improved since introduction in 1974.
The EGG is unique combining flexibility with capability that can surpass conventional cookers. It is a smoker, a grill and an oven and you can cook on it year around, from appetizers to entrees to desserts.
The maker recommends using natural lump charcoal, as opposed to charcoal or other fuel. This fuel when burned produces a cleaner burning heat with less residual material left over. Leftovers can be reused and burned along with new fuel reducing your fuel bills.
Nowadays there's even forums for The Big Green Egg including Eggtoberfests which allow you to visit or join with your smoker in contests to determine who can cook the best or most unique meal.
Keep in mind they Big Green Egg cost up to 4 times more than a Weber or other brand but many think they're the best thing since sliced bread.
