This is one of the easiest and quickest hamburger recipes we know. The patties are formed and combined with bacon and or mushrooms and all the condiments lettuce, tomatoes, onions and your own brand of secret recipe sauce which might be just ketchup, mayonnaise and relish.

Last week we made burgers and with those special Brioche buns and the taste was amazing.  I like having our own shredded cheese so we go to specialty food shops to find just the right amount of cheese.  We get two types of course the sharp Cheddar and I like a French style cheese called Comte.  I love the sour unique flavor of the Comte when combined with meats like hamburgers.

For my parent we toasted some sesame seed buns and added a little butter first to get that golden brown flavor.  The hamburger was grilled to perfection and the mushrooms were sauteed along with grilled onions and a big ripe tomato.  I remember when I was working as a kid on a ranch my Dad would always stop at the corner market miles out in the farm land and would buy their daily hamburger special.  The burgers always featured this big red onion on top with melted cheddar cheese.  This was truly one of the best burgers we've ever had.  Now that store wasn't the most hygenic but the food was really good.

For those of you who like it hot you can grill jalapenos or habaneros and add them to your burger.  Some of my friends like grinding the meat together with habanerno.  They have to be careful not to scratch their faces or rub their noses with their fingers afterward the process.  They swear that the cooked burgers are the best they've ever had.

Hopefully these burgers will bring home some of your favorite memories as you share these with friends and family.

Here's a quick cooking chart for BBQ Hamburgers and more.

We suggest using ground sirloin which is simply sirloin beef cuts ground to make burgers. The chart can be used as if the burgers are steaks.
